Dune Test is a cinematic editorial created to explore color, atmosphere, and subtle visual effects through a minimalist, story-driven aesthetic. Developed as both a creative exercise and a technical test, the project served as an opportunity to experiment with cinematic framing, environmental composition, and a newly integrated DJI wireless video transmission workflow while capturing imagery inspired by large-scale science fiction filmmaking.

Rather than relying on elaborate production design, the project transforms a familiar coastal landscape through cinematography, color grading, and restrained visual effects. Additional terrain and distant mountain formations were digitally composited into the environment to subtly reshape the world without drawing attention to the effect itself. The goal was to create a setting that feels believable yet unfamiliar—blurring the line between reality and fiction while maintaining a grounded cinematic look.

Color became the defining creative element of the project. A palette of warm peaches, muted yellows, soft purples, and pastel pinks was carefully developed to evoke a dreamlike atmosphere that feels expansive, tranquil, and slightly otherworldly. Combined with deliberate camera movement and understated visual effects, the result is an editorial focused less on spectacle and more on creating a mood that invites viewers into a world that feels both familiar and imagined.
